These people have had MORE than enough time and help to be able to met their benchmarks. There is no excuse for them not meeting them other than they DO NOT want to! Earlier this month we had Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki lash out at U.S. politicians who have called on him to step down and accused U.S. forces of committing "big mistakes" in killing and detaining civilians in the hunt for insurgents. He also said "no one has the right to impose timetables on his elected government," and that Iraq can "find friends elsewhere." Without naming any American official, al-Maliki said some criticism of him and his government in recent days had been "discourteous." Well you know what if your that DAMN DISSATISIFED with us then there should be no problem with us LEAVING!!!!
Now Shrub would like everyone to believe that the report is not exactly accurate. Well you know what I say to that? FUCK YOU SHRUB!!!! There are 160,000 Troops over there in Iraqmire proving what the report states which is that NO BENCHMARKS ARE BEING MET!!!!

Ninety-nine U.S. soldiers killed themselves last year, the highest rate of suicide in the Army in 26 years, a new report says. More than one out of four soldiers who committed suicide did so while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, according to a report scheduled to be released Thursday. Iraq was the most common deployment location for U.S. soldiers who either attempted suicide or committed suicide.
The report, which The Associated Press obtained ahead of its public release, said the 99 confirmed suicides among active duty soldiers compared to 88 in 2005 and was the highest raw number since the 102 suicides reported in 1991, the year of the Persian Gulf War, when there were more soldiers on active duty.
Investigations are still pending on two other deaths and if they are confirmed as suicides, the number for last year would be 101 instead of 99.
In a half million-person Army, last year's suicide toll translates to a rate of 17.3 per 100,000, the highest in the past 26 years, officials report. The rate has fluctuated over those years, with the low being 9.1 per 100,000 in 2001.
Failed personal relationships, legal and financial problems and the stress of their jobs were factors motivating the soldiers to commit suicide, according to the report. It also found a significant relationship between suicide attempts and the number of days deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan or nearby countries where troops were participating in the war effort.

RANDOM LAKE, Wis. -- The supervisor of a church child care center in Sheboygan County is on leave while the sexual assault of a 10-month-old girl is investigated.Authorities said the baby was sexually assaulted on June 26, around the time she was being cared for at Our Lady of the Lakes Child Care Center in Random Lake.
Court records say the injuries were consistent with sexual penetration within 24 hrs. The supervisor initially misled investigators about who was working the day the child was found injured.The suspension is required by state licensing regulations.
Investigators have conducted searches at the child care center, the church and the Fond du Lac County home of the center's supervisor.
The BABY underwent reconstructive surgery at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee to repair injuries suffered in the assault.
The father of the baby girl said she is recovering from her injuries and still playing, laughing and giggling.

All this & yet and still Shrub and the rest of the Repugs want to send MORE Troops over and possibly have them STAY there until 2009. Now let me see how can I say this in a way everyone will understand? I DON'T EVEN REMOTELY FUCKING THINK SO!!!!!!!! If those Mother Fuckers have the time to take a damn vacation than they have the fucking time to get their heads out of their ASS and pull together to think of a way they can meet their benchmarks NOW! I am absolutely disgusted by the latest news regarding the death of Pat Tillman! These BASTARDS obviously are taking notes from Fuhrer on how to totally DISRESPECT people and not VALUE their worth!!! Check out some of what the Defense Department released:

"The medical evidence did not match up with the, with the scenario as described," a doctor who examined Tillman's body after he was killed on the battlefield in Afghanistan in 2004 told investigators.

The medical examiners' suspicions were outlined in 2,300 pages of testimony released to the AP this week by the Defense Department in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.
Among other information contained in the documents:

• Army attorneys sent each other congratulatory e-mails for keeping criminal investigators at bay as the Army conducted an internal friendly-fire investigation that resulted in administrative, or non-criminal, punishments.

• The three-star general who kept the truth about Tillman's death from his family and the public told investigators some 70 times that he had a bad memory and couldn't recall details of his actions.

• No evidence at all of enemy fire was found at the scene — no one was hit by enemy fire, nor was any government equipment struck.

Congratulatory e-mails? WTF??? The Pentagon & Shrubs Administration have NO RESPECT WHATSOEVER!!! To LIE to this man's family and then laugh and congratulate yourselves afterwards is absofuckinglutely disgusting! The class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, filed Monday in federal court in San Francisco, seeks broad change in the agency as it struggles to meet growing demands from veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Suing on behalf of hundreds of thousands of veterans, it charges that the VA has failed warriors on several fronts — from providing prompt disability benefits, to adding staff to reduce wait times for medical care to boosting services for post-traumatic stress disorder.

The lawsuit also accuses the VA of deliberately cheating some veterans by allegedly working with the Pentagon to misclassify PTSD claims as pre-existing personality disorders to avoid paying out benefits. The VA and Pentagon have generally denied such charges.

The lawsuit comes amid intense political and public scrutiny of the VA and Pentagon following reports of shoddy outpatient care of injured soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and elsewhere.

Nicholson abruptly announced last week he would step down by Oct. 1 to return to the private sector. He has repeatedly defended the agency during his 2 1/2-year tenure while acknowledging there was room for improvement.
More recently, following high-profile suicide incidents in which families of veterans say the VA did not provide adequate care, Nicholson pledged to add mental health services and hire more suicide-prevention coordinators.

Kasnitz, managing attorney for Disability Rights Advocates, in a telephone interview. Her group is teaming up with a major law firm, Morrison & Foerster, to represent the veterans.
"We don't believe the problems will be fixed by the VA if we wait for them," she said. "In the meantime, it is veterans who risk their lives for our country who are suffering the consequences.

President Bush on Wednesday reiterated his threat to veto Senate legislation that would substantially increase funds for children's health insurance by levying a 61-cent-a-pack increase in the federal excise tax on cigarettes. The tax increase would be used to subsidize health insurance for children and some adults with incomes too high to qualify for Medicaid but not high enough to afford insurance on their own.

"If Congress continues to insist upon expanding health care through the SCHIP program — which, by the way, would entail a huge tax increase for the American people — I'll veto the bill," he said.

The American Hospital Association, the American Medical Association and the American Cancer Society support the increase.

2.) We have Iraq saying benchmarks hurt them and set them up for failure (excuse me they fail themselve's by not wanting to progress)
3.) We have former Surgeon General Richard Carmona state he was ordered to mention President Bush 3 times in his speeches and not allowed to speak or issue reports about stem cell research, emergency contraception, sex education, basically anything that goes against the Presidents "morals"! ( as if the bastard has any morals)

ALL of the above mentioned make me sick to my stomach and piss me off to no end, but the last one really pisses me off! Harriet Miers is an IDIOT and we have all established that, Iraq is self explanitory they don't progress or meet benchmarks because they don't want to period! The Surgeon General is different, and even though it pisses me off times INFINITY I know exactly why these bitches do the shit they do. It's simple it isn't convenient to educate the public, WHY you ask? Simple by educating your people you are putting them in a position to make intelligent and educated decisions which if you are a DICTATOR is NOT what you want, and we all know SHRUB is a DICTATOR because the BASTARD has made it oh so obvious! All around us, dangerous winds are swirling and these winds could reach our shores at any moment." He's right about one thing, we are in the "eye of a storm" and that storm IS "HIM & HIS ADMINISTRATION"! They have single handedly put us in more danger than ever before! Not only have they put us in danger they have KILLED & ENDANGERED THE LIVES OF COUNTLESS SOLDIERS AND CIVILIANS IN IRAQ FOR WHAT? I'll tell you for what, FOR THEIR GREED, & GREED ONLY. That IS the TRUTH & not the FABRICATED bedtime story about the "boogie man" that this bunch of storytellers would like you to believe! The IDIOT went on to say, "Hear the words of Osama bin Laden: He calls the struggle in Iraq a `war of destiny' he proclaimed, `the war is for you or for us to win. If we win it, it means your defeat and disgrace forever.'' WTF? So what is he calling Bin-Laden on the phone now or WTF? For him to say Bin-Laden said that is ridiculous, what he wants to do is try and use "scare tactics" to try to convince the American people that we have a "real" reason for being in and staying in this ILLEGAL WAR. Ok you know what I really think I am going to completely lose it after the latest IGNORANT comment that I heard. Today we have Sen. Chuck Hagel saying "Gonzales no longer has any moral authority" EXCUSE ME, but WHEN the fuck did he EVER have it? Someone who has his head so far up Shrub's ass that it actually CONSTIPATES him could NEVER have had ANY "moral authority" to begin with! I'll give the man credit for calling for Dumbo's resignation but that's all I give him. For someone to think this Bastard EVER had any moral authority just tells me that they are actually DUMBER THAN THEY LOOK!! WHY does it take Dumbo visiting no excuse me PRESSURING an ailing attorney general for all those Repugs to get themselve's "worked up"? I wish they would get their fucking selve's that "worked up" over the SLAUGHTERING of our Troops, or the SHITTY hospitals THEY "provide" for our wounded soldiers after they have come back from HELL. I am sick of their asses getting on public television to cry about how "unfair" they are being treated and how their being "pressured" WHO CARES???? WHO IN THE HELL DOES THIS POMPOUS ASS THINK HE IS? He may think he's a "pro-life" person, but that's not true. I'll tell you who George Bush REALLY is! He is a DICTATOR, TYRANT, COMMIE, SELF-RIGHTEOUS, COWARD, BIGOT, POMPOUS ASS, who has made it HIS mission to DESTROY AMERICA AND WHAT WE STAND FOR! For those that don't, can't, or won't believe, here are the facts, this country was founded by Immigrants yet Shrub & his party have been the BIGGEST ANTI-IMMIGRANT group I have ever seen. Two, this country was founded on the belief that "all men were created EQUAL", AGAIN not true if your name is Shrub. The expansion of the Hate Crime Bill hasn't even reached his desk yet and he's already threatening to VETO it! This next one REALLY PISSES ME OFF, he is threatening to VETO any abortion bills that "use tax payer dollars to be used for the destruction of Human Life". Are you fucking kidding me?He "won't allow tax payer dollars to be used for the destruction of Human Life" BUT it's OK for the DESTRUCTION OF OUR SOLDIERS LIVES & THE IRAQI PEOPLE'S LIVES! In typical DICTATOR fashion he VETOED a bill just last week that would have saved THOUSANDS of lives by setting a time line to bring the Troops home. Off duty in Baghdad, Army Sgt. Ronn Cantu operates an antiwar website.

When not repairing Black Hawk helicopters for the California National Guard, Jabbar Magruder conducts counterrecruiting sessions with would-be enlistees.

Fresh from TWO tours EACH in Iraq, decorated former Marines Sean O'Neill and Mike Ergo give antiwar speeches at Northern California high schools.

Although their numbers are still small compared with the draft-fueled Vietnam veterans' movement four decades ago, California's Iraq veterans are gaining a voice in opposition to America's continued military presence in Iraq. Recent antiwar demonstrations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities have seen the first sizable contingents of veterans from the conflict.

The protesters even include some soldiers — like Cantu, of Los Angeles — who are still on active duty. "I've taken a public antiwar stance," Cantu, 29, recently e-mailed from Baghdad, where he serves in intelligence with the 1st Cavalry Division, "but I didn't shirk my responsibilities."

O'Neill, a 24-year-old Marine veteran from Fremont, said he likes to take the antiwar message to conservative areas of the state "to add legitimacy and to show that it is not just crazed leftists who are against the war."

Sgt. Jabbar Magruder, 24, served in Iraq in 2005 and is still a member of the California National Guard while he attends Cal State Northridge as a pre-med major.

In his civilian mode, he serves as secretary of the Los Angeles chapter of Iraq Veterans Against the War, attends antiwar demonstrations and meets with students on college campuses. He recently traveled to Hawaii to speak to potential military recruits about the Iraq war and was one of nearly 1,000 regular military, National Guard and Reserve members who signed an Appeal for Redress that was delivered to Congress in January.

The three-sentence appeal reads: "As a patriotic American proud to serve the nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to support the prompt withdrawal of all American military forces and bases in Iraq. Staying in Iraq will not work and is not worth the price. It is time for U.S. troops to come home."

Now that's what I call "supporting the Troops"!!!!! I happened to run across this by accident but I am sure GLAD I did! I found a website founded by a soldier who is IN IRAQ but OPPOSED to the war, on his website he welcomes pro-war, and anti-war people alike. I LOVE this for more than one reason, but my main reason for LOVING this is because it comes from a soldier WHO is there not a DAMN COMMIE, TYRANT, who will NEVER go there! I plan on leaving a comment on his site later to COMMEND him for taking a VOCAL stance against this LIE Shrub wants us to keep fighting. Hey, if she hates it so much, she can take MY place. What got me about that interview was the condescending tone Rantel had after he said goodbye to Jabbar. He said something along the lines of "He obviously hopes he doesn't have to go back."

That's easy to say considering he's in NO danger of going at all.

Lincoln County Democrats invited our VeteransForPeace Squadron13 bus to march with them in the "Loyalty Days" parade which took place on Saturday May 5th, 2007. The parade organizers were informed ahead of time that a bus would be included in their entry and permission was granted. When we showed up 2 hours prior to the parade start to get our registration number we were met with confusion and bureaucratic mumbo jumbo. Initially a Lincoln County Sheriff showed up and told us that we could not take part in the parade. Unable to counter our insistence that our bus was registered he called for the parade organizer, Patty Louisiana, who would make the final determination. Patty showed up and did her best to explain why we could not be in the parade. On camera she said our message of peace "doesn't support the spirit of our community".
Pro-military, pro-war entries in this parade were abundant. Pro-peace messages were completely absent, so it seems clear that beautiful Newport Oregon is a supporter of the ILLEGAL WAR, the deaths of thousands of young soldiers, and hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi citizens whose only crime was to be living in a country with a wealth of oil.

All over the news today are reports that there was a double suicide bombing in Iraq killing 25, this in the aftermath of a month that saw more than 100 die. I have to wonder WHY when 72% of Americans are against Shrub and his Administration of liers is this Bullshit of a war still going on? Now The White House wants to say they are expecting HEAVIER casualties as the military pushes into "tougher neighborhoods". Fuck That!!!! This Bastard needs to be stopped NOW!!!! With reports coming in more frequently of soldiers suffering from stress or stress related symptoms, we can not allow this Tyrant to CONTINUE sending our troops on repeated tours of duty! The fatalities overseas are high not just because of insurgents, but because our men and women overseas are BEING PUSHED AND FORCED TO CONTINUE ON EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE FATIGUED AND NOT PROPERLY EQUIPPED TO FIGHT THIS LIE OF A WAR!!! Shrub with his "my way or the highway attitude" is the reason why our troops are dying in rapid numbers. He doesn't care that they're tired or that his General is telling him this is going to take more than military action. Shrub cares only about what he wants and needs. I have NEVER witnessed so much INSANITY in my life. The sane thing to do for all involved would be to withdraw and allow the Iraqi's to take control of their country. There have been numerous reports stating that U.S. presence in Iraq is not wanted and is actually making the situation WORSE. Our men and women overseas have done what we have asked of them, now it is time for us to help them and that is by FIGHTING against the insanity that IS Shrub & Co. and bring them HOME!!!!

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton announced Thursday that she's joining forces with one of the Senate's most skilled parliamentary infighters to try to rescind President Bush's authority to wage war.
Clinton, a New York Democrat seeking her party's presidential nomination, and Sen. Robert Byrd, a West Virginia Democrat who is the Senate's longest-serving member, said they will seek a vote to rescind the authority Congress granted Bush to use force in Iraq in October 2002. If approved, the measure would require congressional reauthorization for troops to remain in Iraq, Clinton said.

"We're going to force a debate on the whole war," she told reporters outside the Senate chamber. "We want to force the Congress to look at whether the president's authority, which comes from Congress, should be rescinded."

The Bush administration accused Clinton of playing presidential politics.

"Here we go again. The Senate is trying another way to put a surrender date on the calendar," said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. "Welcome to politics, '08 style.

Clinton's challenge to Bush came as party leaders tried to negotiate a deal with the White House over a funding bill for military operations In Iraq and demonstrated how presidential politics may affect the pace of the congressional debate over the war. Bush vetoed the $124.2 billion bill Tuesday because it contained a timeline for withdrawing troops from Iraq. The House fell 62 votes short of overriding the veto Wednesday.

In joining forces with Byrd, Clinton is allying herself with an 89-year-old hero of her party's anti-war movement. Byrd was one of 23 senators who voted against the resolution giving Bush authority to go to war in Iraq — a resolution Clinton supported.

On Thursday, Clinton made a point of noting that she supported a resolution Byrd offered to the war-authorization resolution that would have required the president to return to Congress every year for renewal of his war powers.

One of her Democratic rivals who has been most critical of Clinton's Iraq vote, former North Carolina senator John Edwards, voted against Byrd's effort to limit Bush' authority.

Clinton's vote on the Iraq war and her refusal to apologize for it — she says she based her decision on information she considered reliable at the time — has become a point of debate on the campaign trail.

As for the emergency-funding bill for the troops in Iraq, Clinton said it "has to move forward in whatever form we get agreement on." She added, "Sen. Byrd and I wanted to send a very clear signal that the supplemental (bill) is not the end of it."

A funding bill must be passed before next month or the Army will begin running out of money for its operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the non-partisan Congressional Research Service.

White House chief of staff Joshua Bolten and budget director Rob Portman met with congressional leaders Thursday to discuss a possible compromise.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said he intends to enact funding legislation by the end of the month. He called his initial meeting with Bolten "constructive," but would not elaborate on details of a possible compromise.

Asked whether the presidential rivalries will make it harder to maintain party unity on the Iraq issue in the Senate, Reid said: "They've caused me no concern. Presidential politics is one thing. They can kick and scream and bite and scratch out there politically but they haven't done that in the caucus."

It's not Impeachment but this reolution might be the next best thing. Let's hope for the best!

I'm going to take a minute or two to let off some steam about an issue I hold very near and dear to my heart, IMMIGRATION! Everytime I turn on the news lately someone has something to say about Immigrants LEGAL & OTHERWISE! So now I'm going to say something too, I AM SICK AND FUCKING TIRED OF HEARING ALL THIS BULLSHIT ABOUT HOW IMMIGRANTS ARE TAKING AMERICAN JOBS, AND HOW THEY DON'T WANT TO LEARN ENGLISH! As the DAUGHTER of a Immigrant from Mexico I can tell you my father may have entered this country ILLEGALY but he learned english dammit, and not just how to speak it but how to read it, and write it as well. My father married my mother and became a LEGAL U.S. Resident eventually becoming a US Citizen. WHY am I telling you this? For one reason and one reason only, so people will start trying REALLY trying to understand WHY these Immigrants come here to begin with! My Dad was literally starving in Mexico, he came here NOT to "take" someone's job, but to PERFORM a job that NO ONE WANTED he became a dishwasher. Like many other Immigrants who come to this country my Dad took a low paying job that other people simply did not want! Now I'm not saying people should come into this country Illegaly, but they DAMN SURE SHOULDN'T BE BLAMED FOR PERFORMING JOBS THAT LEGAL AMERICANS DO NOT WANT TO PERFORM!!! I have worked in staffing for many years and I can tell you first hand SOME people don't have a job because they simply DON'T WANT ONE! I have offered people jobs that pay $8 or $9 an hour and have been told "that's not enough money, I WON'T work for that" if a person doesn't want to work for a certain pay that's fine, but then DO NOT turn around and say someone is "taking YOUR job" because the FACT IS many people are FUCKING THEMSELVES! I have a better idea, instead of blaming these Immigrants and bashing them for looking for a better way of life, WHY don't Politicians (specifically Repugs. since they seem to be the one's with the biggest problem here) get upset and point the finger not only at themselve's for not wanting to raise the minimum wage, but at the LARGE corporations as well that hire these Immigrants! If they would be willing to raise the minimum wage MORE Americans would be willing to take the low paying jobs. The fact is they're only interested in giving themselve's raises. It's funny how they get on camera and CRY about how much they're "costing us" and how they "don't want them here" yet OFF camera these are the SAME BASTARDS HIRING THEM TO BUILD BORDER FENCES,PAVE THEIR CITY STREETS,CLEAN THEIR HOUSES, OR WATCH THEIR SPOILED BRATS. Three investigations have been launched into police officers' tactics in dispersing a crowd at an immigration rally, where police fired rubber bullets into crowds.

Police Chief William J. Bratton said Wednesday the public has "an absolute and unqualified right to EXPECT and DEMAND an aggressive review" of the events at MacArthur Park late Tuesday, when officers fired 240 "nonlethal" rounds to clear demonstrators.

"The events of (Tuesday), with all (the training) that we do, SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURED," Bratton said at a tense news conference.

News images showed POLICE STRIKING a television cameraman to the ground, SHOVING people who were WALKING AWAY FROM OFFICERS and injuries from the rubber bullets. (Watch police in riot gear fire into the crowd )

Rally organizers denounced the police action as BRUTAL.

"They were PUSHING CHILDREN, ELDERLY, MOTHERS WITH THEIR BABIES and BEATING UP on the MEDIA" said Angela Sanbrano, an organizer.

The clashes started around 6 p.m. Tuesday, when police tried to disperse demonstrators who moved into a street, according to rally organizers and reporters. Authorities said several people threw rocks and bottles at officers, who used batons to push the crowd back to the sidewalk and then cleared the park.

A police order to disperse was in English and from a police helicopter, a likely ineffective tactic because of the noise and because many at the protest were Spanish-speakers, Bratton said.

John Mack, president of the five-member Police Commission, said he was "deeply disturbed and very disappointed" by the news images.

"This was not a pretty picture. This incident raises serious concern regarding the use of force by some individual officers," said Mack, who is one of Bratton's bosses.

Democratic Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, who represents the park district, also asked Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley to launch an independent investigation into the officers' actions.

He said POLICE DELIBERATELY led troublemakers back to the peaceful marchers before beginning their assault.

"The only logical conclusion I can come to is that somebody wanted it to bleed into the march so that they can do some target practice on some of the immigrants that were marching," Nunez said.

News organizations also condemned the Police Department for its use of batons and riot guns against members of the media.

"We are sorry for what happened to our employees and find it unacceptable that they would be abused in that way when they were doing their job," said Alfredo Richard, spokesman for the Spanish-language network Telemundo, whose anchor and reporter were hurt.

Bratton promised to investigate the treatment of reporters.

"We should never be engaged in attacking anyone in the media," Bratton said.

I attendended the marches here in Fort Worth, Tx last year, and I can tell you first hand NOBODY was disrespectful. I find it HIGHLY unlikely that someone was acting "out of hand". April was the worst month for US casualties this year, yet they continue to insist on sending more troops to Iraq and continue to talk about "the progress" being made over there. Why this bunch of Jackasses refuse to face reality is beyond me.

* The Islamic State in Iraq, an umbrella group that includes al-Qaida, posted an
Internet message saying militants were developing long-term plans and tactics for
a "long-term war of attrition" against the Americans.

* The U.S. weekend deaths raised to at least 104 the number of American troops
killed in Iraq so far in April, making it the deadliest month since December,
when 112 died. At least 3,351 personnel have died since the war started,
according to the AP count.

* A suicide bomber wearing a vest packed with explosives killed 32 people when he
blew himself up among mourners at a Shi'ite funeral north of Baghdad on Monday,
Iraqi police said.

SHRUBS refusal to face reality, admit that he was wrong, and accept that the only way the Iraqi Gov. is going to start meeting their benchmarks is if we begin to withdraw our troops, is what is holding up our troops funding and ability to come home! Sen. Russ Feingold said it best when he said:

"American troops are dying for no good reason at this point, they are in a
situation where they are being sacrificed because people want political
comfort in Washington. The surge isn't working. The situation in Iraq isn't
working."

Katrina.....The fight goes on!

I know there are alot of people out there who dislike American Idol, but let me tell you watching it last night, I have to APPLAUD them for doing what this BASTARD we know as Shrub & his Administration REFUSE to do! They raised money last night for the poor not just abroad but HERE IN AMERICA as well. They showed how the poor in Africa are dying of AIDS, Malaria, and overall horrendous living conditions. A.I. also showed Louisiana and how the aftermath of Katrina STILL has not been dealt with. It is DISGUSTING & RIDICULOUS, that 2 years later these people STILL have no homes and are forced to live in deplorable conditions for no reason other than that Shrub is "too busy" worrying about his war and how much money he needs for it, than to care about how THEY ARE LIVING! This BASTARD needs to be tried for LIES, ABUSE OF AUTHORITY, WAR CRIMES, & MASS MURDER! What Trigger Happy & his Administration have done not just to the people of Iraq but to his fellow Americans here is INTOLERABLE, and has NO JUSTIFICATION! I sat there and cried for an hour just thinking about the images I had seen. I grew up in a rough place, and have seen my friends and neighbors shot in front of me due to gang activity, so I consider myself a pretty tough person, but seeing those images last night of families living in trailers, and in HORRIBLE living conditions crying because they are STILL LIVING KATRINA tore my heart apart! It is amazing how "WE" don't have money to feed the poor or "time" to heal OUR NATION yet we have plenty of time and money to fund UNJUSTIFIED wars and plenty of time and consideration for the "healing" of the people in Iraq! Now the excuse we will get is that Saddam held "MASS MURDERS" and commited "GENOCIDE" well excuse me, but if I'm not mistaken THIS WAR MONGER did the same, only he used Mother Nature & LIES to hide his crimes!!! The only difference between the two DICTATORS is that at least Saddam was blunt about what he did, this BASTARD just makes up lies to "justify" the crimes he commits!!!!

Places that were dear to residents and that survived years of wars and sanctions under Saddam have been wiped away in recent months in a campaign one local newspaper said recently was stripping the city of its soul.
Last week, a bomb wrecked a bridge over the Tigris, which was also once a popular swimming spot for Baghdad's children.
Saad Abdul-Kareem al-Samarraie, a retired military officer, had been going to the book market at Mutanabi Street in old Baghdad every Friday for more than 50 years before a car bomb pulverised its narrow alleys and old cafes earlier this year.
Samarraie said the bombing of Mutanabi, once the centre of Baghdad's rich intellectual life, was a big personal blow.
"I had gone to Mutanabi to buy books since I was a high- school student," said Samarraie, 70, standing in front of rows of floor-to-ceiling shelves holding more than 3,000 books in his home.
"With the bombing of Mutanabi a vital part of Iraq's history disappeared in seconds," he said.
Najeeb, who would only give his first name, said his favorite corner in Baghdad was the animal market in central Shorja market, which has been bombed several times.
The market featured an array of strange creatures, including monkeys and parrots smuggled from tropical countries by sailors and eagles and snakes brought from the desert by the Bedouins.
"I'm the youngest of seven brothers and they wouldn't let me go alone because there were large crowds and they were afraid I would get lost," said Najeeb, 35.
He works as a translator for the U.S. military and has to cover his face with a ski-mask when he goes on patrol past what is left of the market for fear of retaliation.
"My favorite stall was the one run by the Bedouins. There was a medicine man would come and buy the scorpions from them and use the venom for his potions," he said.
One employee working for Reuters remembers most the swimming pool in Zawra Park, where he and his two brothers learned how to swim.
His father would take children from the neighborhood in the family car and go to Zawra, where they would play until dark.
"My father taught me how to swim at Zawra. I must have been 9-years old. I don't go to Zawra anymore. I don't find rest there," said the employee, declining to give his name.
"That Baghdad has disappeared. I once had a photograph of those days at the pool but I lost it."

If that is "Progress" I would hate to see what Peace looks like to Shrub & Co.!

Tolerance not Ignorance

I have been watching as I'm sure everyone has the news about the Va. shootings, and I must say as much as I hate to that, Society has some responsibility for what happened in Virginia. Everytime something like this happens the media, makes such a fuss over the killers and what they were thinking, what did they do in their free time, what does their family do, that to a certain point they glamorize these sick individuals. It is always good to find out what makes a person react the way they do so we know how to avoid these types of endings or situations in the future, but when we repeatedly see a pattern and continue to ignore it something is wrong with us too! In almost every school shooting there was one HUGE common thread, that thread was that the person or persons in most of these situations were picked on and bullied for being different. When are we as a society finally going to understand that "JUST BECAUSE YOU MAY HAVE MORE THAN SOMEONE, DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE BETTER THAN THEM?" This kind of ignorance is what has caused many of the tragedy's that are now being discussed in the news. Columbine, the Red lake High School shooting, this massacre now in Va. in each case the gunman is described as having been "bullied or picked on" and in each case the people around them described them as being "troubled". Yet instead of more people pushing to get them some help they continued to "bully them and pick on them" or flat out ignore them. In order to correct a problem, and prevent it from worsening you have to deal with it. Part of that "dealing with it" is in the way we educate our children and each other! IN NO WAY AM I MAKING AN EXCUSE FOR WHAT HAPPENED IN VA. OR IN ANY OF THOSE OTHER CASES, I AM SIMPLY SAYING TOLERANCE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE DIFFERENT FROM YOU NOT IGNORANCE IS THE ANSWER! I cannot stress ACCEPTANCE enough. When we learn to accept people who are different from us and understand that it is wrong to go around thinking we "are more because we have more" I think then and only then will see a difference not only in the crime rate in this country but also in the racial relations in this country. Knowledge is POWER and IGNORANCE only leads to trouble!

Hatred in America

I took a few days off after my twister adventure, (check out Progressive Thinking Chicano's blog for more info.) but am back now and readier than ever!
Yesterday I saw a movie that broke my heart and made me cry more than words can say. I saw the Matthew Shepard Story. By now everyone should know who he was, but for those of you who don't I will enlighten you. Matthew Shepard was a young college student who was brutally murdered for nothing other than being gay. As someone with MANY gay friends and a gay Uncle, I found this movie extremely upsetting! I believe in equal rights for all, and that you should be able to love freely without having to worry if your way of life is going to "offend" somebody. I don't believe in "don't ask/don't tell", if your happy shout it to the world! Nobody has the right to tell somebody else how to live their life. How many abortion clinics are blown up, or how many Dr.'s who perform these procedures are MURDERED every year, along with countless numbers of other people either because of their sexual or religious preferences? All this, these COWARDS will claim are done "in the name of God"? Well to quote my Mother, "God hates murderers too!!!" I am urging all my fellow friends to get on Matthew Shepards web site if you can and sign the "erase hate petition". We have to do something now to stop the HATRED & LACK of TOLERANCE in this country, or else we will end up with more situations like this one. The tragedy we saw today at Virginia Tech is also a reminder of what happens when we display acts of IGNORANCE, Shrub&Co. can come out and say all they want that they do not condone this type of behavior, but the reality is THEY TEACH AND LIVE THIS BEHAVIOR!!! They have taken it upon themselves to show the world that when "we" as a country do not agree with something the answer is to go and show displays of VIOLENCE rather than try diplomacy. They talk about terrorist overseas, what about the terrorist they're raising here? Nobody talks about that. What about the Timothy McVeighs, Terry Nichols, and John Walkers of America??? This is not a random or isolated incident, this is the future of America! Columbine happened almost 8 years ago, but EVERYDAY in America there are school shootings and acts of violence, that they do not get publicity as often as they should, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. This is a problem that NEEDS to be addressed! How can "we" as country tell others not to "harbor terrorist or radical groups" when we can't control the one's we have here in our own back yard? Today is ANOTHER truly sad day in America. My heart goes out to EVERYONE who has lost a loved one due to IGNORANCE!!!

Which Enemy?

Today we find out that once again a Bomb sent 10 people plunging to their deaths on a bridge in Iraq that links East and West Baghdad. Seven hours later we hear ANOTHER suicide bomber has killed 8 people inside Iraq's Parliament. When is this Madness we know as Shub & Co. going to open their eye's and see THERE IS NO "PROGRESS" IN IRAQ!!! I know I speak for many when I say I am sick and tired of seeing this shit. It makes me sick to my stomach every time I think not only about the INNOCENT people and children that are dying in this war Shrub likes to call his "War on Terror" but also everytime I think of the countles number of US Soldiers who have died over Shrubs LIES or the brave military men and women who come back with seriouse injuries only to be treated in half ass places like Walter Reed! The time has come for us to come together and DEMAND JUSTICE not only for ourselves but for the countless number of people who have died as a result of Shrub & Co.'s lies! We cannot continue to stand by and watch, as our loved one's or our fellow Americans loved one's sit there in Iraq like targets waiting to be killed at any time. This President has made the people of this country look like criminals when we are not, and he needs to be IMPEACHED and brought to justice. Not only for the crimes he is committing by his continued insistance on fighting this war but because of the crimes he is STILL committing by not giving the troops adequate health care upon their return home. There is no reason why they should have to be treated in moldy, rat infested quarters like Walter Reed. I ask myself this, how many more Walter Reeds are out there?? How many more Katrina's have to happen?? We must do something NOW!!!

Ready to Grill?

With Summer coming and the weather looking better I think I'm ready to start up the grill. So how about we start by grilling Shrub's faithful little ass kisser Alberto Gonzales! It seems all of a sudden the Cowardly Lion wants to keep a low profile. Why? The fun and games are just about to begin, especially with the House & Senate Committees interviewing Kyle Sampson AGAIN. Guess what? It won't be too long before Monica Goodling gets her little Happy Ass Subpoena too! Then the party will REALLY be started and maybe just maybe, we can grill them ALL TOGETHER, and after we're done feed them to the dogs! Nah, on second thought the dogs didn't do anything to deserve that and I sure as hell don't want to get charged with ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!! Speaking of cruelty, Shrub has decided that he is HORRIFIED that Senate voted in support of stem cell research. Shrub say's it "raises seriouse MORAL concern for millions of Americans" Oh and I guess the GENOCIDE of our troops and the people in Iraq isn't a "MORAL CONCERN?" This selfrighteous BASTARD doesn't have an ounce of morality in him, a damn DOG has MORE MORALS than he does and at least THEY'RE LOYAL! ITMFA!!!!!!!

The Answer is......VETO DAMMIT!!

President Bush will AGAIN veto a bill to subsidize stem cell research using human embryos, but would sign an alternative that permits public funding for studies on embryos incapable of developing into fetuses, the White House said Tuesday.
The bill Bush opposes, sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., would lift the president's 2001 ban on federal funding for any new embryonic stem cell studies.
Bush contends the measure crosses an ethical line because human embryos are destroyed in the process of extracting the stem cells, material that can morph into any tissue in the body and theoretically replace or heal damaged organs.

"The administration believes that research on alternative sources of stem cells is extremely promising and provides robust opportunities to advance science without compelling American taxpayers to participate in ongoing destruction of human embryos," the White House said in a statement.

If the measure passes both houses and reaches Bush's desk, "he would veto the bill," the statement said.

On the other hand, an alternative sponsored by Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., would encourage research that does not harm budding human life, the administration said. That measure would direct taxpayer money to stem cell research on fertilized embryos that have passed the window of time in which they are capable of developing into a human being.

President Bush on Tuesday invited Democrats to discuss their standoff over a war-spending bill, but he made clear he would not change his position opposing troop withdrawals. The White House bluntly said the meeting would not be a negotiation.

In essence, Bush invited the Democratic leaders of Congress to come hear the stance he has offered for weeks.

He's against Stem cell research because he doesn't believe in "participating in the ongoing destruction of human embryos" BUT he's ok with the "ongoing destruction of our troops as well as the destruction of the Iraqi people!" "I don't like this line of questioning at all. I find it offensive. I'm sure that it was a small, it was a small number. But, let me respond to that right away," McCain replies.

Taking a stand

Well people it's the weekend and I'm glad for that. I am also glad about a couple of other things too! For starters it's nice to see Gonzo, and his fellow fools coming undone. With Monica Goodling resigning she is now the 3rd person to abruptly quit amid the controversy surrounding the firings of Federal Prosecutors. My question is where is everybody going? The fun and games are just about to begin! Enough about that though, I am also thrilled and want to give KUDOS to 2 students at Columbia University for not backing down in the face of injustice. Monique Dols and Karina Garcia disrupted an assembly at the school back in Oct. 2006 where Jim Gilchrist founder of the "Minute Men" was going to speak. They protested sooo loudly he was "forced" to get off the stage! He was seen on the Fox Noise Channel last night apparently crying about how he felt his life was in danger that night. His life was in "danger" BITCH PLEASE! What he got was a taste of his OWN medicine and he didn't like it! Too bad ASSHOLE, now you know what hundreds of immigrants feel EVERY TIME they try to cross the border and your goons come after them! I'm not saying they shouldn't come here legally, but they damn sure shouldn't be run down and hunted they way these COWARDS do it. So he felt his life was in danger, GOOD you reap what you sow DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!!

Today we get news that Roger Aisles compares Barack Obama to Osama Bin-Laden, then we get news that Fattie Hattie A*K*A Newt Gingrich is offering an I'm kinda' sorry but really NOT sorry to Latinos for his remarks about the Spanish language and comparing it to the "ghetto", Last but definately not least we have Shrub pulling ANOTHER fast one. This time he decided that since he "Can't get no satisfaction" with his funding he would go ahead and put Sam Fox in as Ambassador even though HE HIMSELF withdrew Fox's nomination just last week after realizing he didn't have enough votes to obtain Senate confirmation in the Foreign Relations Committe! This is just one of the many displays of IGNORANCE and Arrogance, that Repugnants have shown in the last few day's. Now in the words of MANY smart people I know, ITMFA!!!!!!!!
